Petco does accept unwanted fish. If you have a healthy freshwater fish you can no longer care for, you can bring it to your local Petco for donation. It is wise to call ahead to check if that location is able to accept a fish donation at that time, as they may have limited space available for donated fish. Before you choose to adopt a fish or group of fish, make sure you know everything involved so you are fully prepared to care for your pets. Petco guarantees returns of freshwater aquatic life inside a designated time frame. For 30 days, you can receive a full refund for freshwater fish purchased in our Pet Care Centers. All fish should have a properly established habitat; a receipt is required, and we recommend providing a water sample with your return. By testing your water, we can help check if your tank is ready for another fish, or if it may need some work to prepare it for a new fish.

BEST GROOMER!!!!!

Our sweet boy was groomed today and Rachel did a fabulous job! His fur is SO amazingly soft - he's so silky! She did a wonderful job with his haircut too - He just looks so sweet and smells it too! Rachel has been grooming our boy for a few years and she ALWAYS is so patient with him -he weighs about 80lbs and doesn't always appreciate baths - Rachel works with him, never forces him, and her patience paid off today - He walked right in without a fuss! Hooray Rachel!!!!!!

So Dirty and smelly!

You can have animals without being dirty about! I have several animals and you don't smell them! This store is nasty! Smells horrible, always dirty, messy sales floor, and the bathrooms are nasty too! The front windows are so dirty you can hardly see out of them. And the situation with the guinea pigs pi$$e$ me off! Way too many guinea pigs are being housed together in those tiny tanks with little to no ventilation. I used to work at this store and if people actually knew how those animals got shipped there they would never support this store or any Petco!

If your staff is so tired that she has to tell everyone that she got up at noon but needed a nap and the 2 hours left on her shift couldn’t come fast enough. Perhaps she should just go home. She told every single customer in line the same thing and if they didn’t feel sorry for her then she was rude. Hope to never deal with her again. 12/2/22

Amazing staff

Came in today with my fiancé to pick some stuff out to start a fish tank. Employee kaycee was very informative about different substrates and mediums. Highly recommend this store.

Bought a Betta

Went in today to buy my daughter a fish. Genna was the one who helped us. She is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to what fish can be tank mates and how many you should keep in certain size tanks. We already had a 2.5 gallon tank and wanted a Betta. Genna told us it is best to not have another fish in with the Betta unless you get a bigger tank. So, for now we just have the Betta. If my daughter can show me she's responsible enough to take care of this small tank and 1 fish then I will upgrade to a bigger tank and her Betta can get some tank mates. And it's a sure bet we will be back to ask Genna what would be best. Thanks, Genna!!

Bad squeaker in balls

These leaps and bounds balls are expensive and the squeaker doesn’t last an hour. This is the 3rd one I have bought in my last order that broke right away. We’ve bought these before and they were fine. I don’t know if it’s a bad batch or if they are cheapened up . My dog is not an aggressive chewer. She loves to play ball and these are her favorite. I may have to look for a different type for her. Very disappointed $5.99 piece of junk

Inconsistent pricing

Me rating would be a 5-star rating if the store prices matched the online prices. I found out the hard way that they are not. The store will price match the online prices. Doing so takes additional time in the checkout process and holds up the line for other customers. It would be easier to have the prices match. How can we say we want local stores to thrive when this process encourages online shopping?
