Petco does accept unwanted fish. If you have a healthy freshwater fish you can no longer care for, you can bring it to your local Petco for donation. It is wise to call ahead to check if that location is able to accept a fish donation at that time, as they may have limited space available for donated fish. Before you choose to adopt a fish or group of fish, make sure you know everything involved so you are fully prepared to care for your pets. Petco guarantees returns of freshwater aquatic life inside a designated time frame. For 30 days, you can receive a full refund for freshwater fish purchased in our Pet Care Centers. All fish should have a properly established habitat; a receipt is required, and we recommend providing a water sample with your return. By testing your water, we can help check if your tank is ready for another fish, or if it may need some work to prepare it for a new fish.

I went to purchase fish food and left with two fish. Carlos assisted me and he was professional and extremely knowledgeable of fish, specifically African Cichlids. During my visit, his ability to answer my questions and educate me on the fish within the tank made my time spent there enjoyable. I am looking forward to my next visit.

Horrible Service

I booked an appointment here for my French bull dog, I asked them which shots did he need to update they told me no shots. I knew he was due for a shot they take his paperwork find one shot missing. They take my dog to the back for 5 minutes if that, says he’s been examined and has all his shots. I asked numerous time because he had a grooming appointment coming up. He doesn’t have all his shots they charged me for an examination that was never done and then told me it was $25 off after I said this was not my first visit. I do not recommend at all. He made a joke about stealing my dog as well.

I bought fish here. First off there are not many fish to choose from and assortment of needed filters, backgrounds, etc is very limited, The employee did not put air in the bags of fish and less then a week later they all died! I spent $300 in fish, tank, filter, gravel etc. I will never go to this Petco again!!

Chinchilla health

I recently seen a picture of one of your chinchillas. Please please please!! Get a vet to look at her. I know vets cost money, but the poor girl looks like she needs attention. (No plastic with chinchillas too). Just a caring customer of your franchise. I’m sure staff is great, but a manager HAS to get approved care for this baby.
