Simparica TRIO® (sarolaner, moxidectin, and pyrantel chewable tablets) IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION: See Prescribing Information. Use with caution in dogs with a history of seizures. Simparica Trio contains sarolaner, a member of the isoxazoline class, which has been associated with neurologic adverse reactions including tremors, ataxia, and seizures in dogs with or without a history of neurologic disorders. The safe use of Simparica Trio has not been evaluated in breeding, pregnant, or lactating dogs. The most frequently reported adverse reactions in clinical trials were vomiting and diarrhea.

HEARTGARD® Plus (ivermectin/pyrantel)IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION: Following the use of HEARTGARD® Plus (ivermectin/pyrantel) in dogs, digestive and neurologic side effects and itching have been reported. Safe for puppies 6 weeks of age or older with no weight restrictions. All dogs should be tested for heartworm infection before starting a preventive program. NexGard® (afoxolaner)IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION: NexGard® (afoxolaner) is for use in dogs only. Safe for use in puppies 8 weeks of age or older, weighing 4 pounds or more. The most frequently reported adverse reactions include vomiting, itching, lethargy, diarrhea, and lack of appetite. The safe use of NexGard in pregnant, breeding, or lactating dogs has not been evaluated. Use with caution in dogs with a history of seizures or neurologic disorders. Dr. Gena Holthaus, DVM is an Associate Veterinarian and proud member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA). A graduate of Kansas State University, where she completed both her undergraduate and veterinary degrees, Dr. Holthaus has always been passionate about animal care.

Growing up on a farm nurtured her love for animals, and her natural interest in medicine made veterinary medicine the perfect career path. She has a special interest in small mammal care, particularly reptiles, guinea pigs, and rabbits, and enjoys the rewarding nature of veterinary dentistry, especially helping pets find relief from oral discomfort.

Now based in Topeka, Kansas, Dr. Holthaus enjoys being close to family and lifelong friends. In her free time, she loves reading, gardening, watching movies, and playing video games.

At home, she cares for four rescue cats—Ponyo, Sterling, Willie, and Nyx (two of whom are polydactyl)—as well as a beloved red-footed tortoise. Dr. Holthaus is committed to providing compassionate, high-quality care for pets of all shapes and sizes.
