Petco does accept unwanted fish. If you have a healthy freshwater fish you can no longer care for, you can bring it to your local Petco for donation. It is wise to call ahead to check if that location is able to accept a fish donation at that time, as they may have limited space available for donated fish. Before you choose to adopt a fish or group of fish, make sure you know everything involved so you are fully prepared to care for your pets. Petco guarantees returns of freshwater aquatic life inside a designated time frame. For 30 days, you can receive a full refund for freshwater fish purchased in our Pet Care Centers. All fish should have a properly established habitat; a receipt is required, and we recommend providing a water sample with your return. By testing your water, we can help check if your tank is ready for another fish, or if it may need some work to prepare it for a new fish.

Very Rude

There is no one who monitors the check out. I asked for assistance and the man very rudely says he will be a minuet and I am all he gets. I will not be back. This store is not staffed or managed well.

Very unhappy rude staff

One exception, I am from out of town visiting with my doxies in tow. I came to petco as I know the stores at home are staffed with very positive helpful staff. I was very disappointed today when all but one staff member greeted me and other patrons without eye contact, negative attitudes and acted as though we had just dared to require assistance. One young woman though smiled and was helpful and acted like she was happy to do so. I am sorry I did not see a name tag and didn't catch her name. I love my animals and when I do go to a store for items for them I try to be pleasant to all staff. I will in future just shop on line. There is no attitude with the computer.

Bad service grooming

I was very disappointed that when I arrived at 5:30 to have my dog’s nails trimmed that the groomer had left for the day when the hours are until 6:00.

Help Needed?

There were 3 pallets of supplies blocking easy access to the the dogfood aisle I needed. This was a problem on my previous trip to that store. The dogfood I purchased was on sale but not marked on the shelf. Therefore, I didn't know until check out that it was even on sale, causing me to have to go back and get the additional bags I wanted while it was on sale and making a second purchase.

Healthy Fish

I went in petco to buy a fish tank and was greeted by Thomas. He walked me over to the aquatics area, helped with my tank and suggested filters and other items. He introduced me to Chris who in turn gave me a quick lesson on lights, plants and fish. They went above and beyond to help with my purchase to make sure i had what i needed for a healthy life for my fish.

Slow service & dirty tanks

Took a long time to get someone to help us. We bought fresh water fish. Salt water tanks were very dirty so we didn’t get any. The clerk that got the fresh water fish for us was very aggressive with her catching. I think one of the fish will die before morning. Then nothing rang up correctly, a manager did fix that though

Horrible store!

The store only has 2 workers. have been waiting 35 mins + for help. Still waiting. Very rude staff. They have beta fish in tanks together fighting. Most fish are dead. Do not recommend coming here at all!
