Petco Pet Store in Columbia Columbia

Never shop there again. I bought 2 $20 fish. They both died over the next 3 days. That is the only new fish added to my tank and I have never lost a single marine fish until now!. Now my $100 blue tang has velvet disease. Which is very deadly and difficult to treat in a reef tank. That was the only change to my tank in over a month.

This location has the best customer service and the employees are always so friendly and professional everytime I've been in. They also match prices no matter if it's from their website or another competitor.

These people don't know what they are doing I'm considering buying this chameleon there because it's in a glass cage. If anyone knows about these creatures then you know they have to have a wire mesh cage. If not the reflection in the glass will be seen by that chameleon as another chameleon and it is highly stressful because they try to get to it thinking it's another one. That poor thing was crawling and trying to climb out of the tank. It's very stressed and I don't see it lasting that much longer.

Horrible. These people questioned me like I was a child refused to sell me an animal. Because they think the tank I have is to small but is bigger then the animal is currently in. I have had experience with animals reptiles and all for several years so not only did I not spend over $100 on a reptile I didn’t spend money on his food or anything else I will dive completely out of the way to not go to this location. Not to mention the general manager was not it all helpful and was they same way. However I drove to the next pet co and had no issues it all with the perches of my reptile. How these people in this store is not ok. Crazy iv been to 4 different pet cos around me and this is the only one who oration is called us liers and then refused to sell us the animal so I know this is not pet cos policy. I end up buying two geckos and a chameleon and food and an extra enclosure today. And there store just lost out on them sales and if they did that to me wounder how many sales you lose in that store because they treat customers like liers and children

I went to buy a chameleon but they told me that I couldn't have it in my terrarium because it's small, so I asked them to tell me which one I could buy in their store since I really wanted the chameleon. They told me they didn't have what I needed and in the end they didn't sell me anything, neither the terrarium nor the chameleon. I don't understand why they sell reptiles if they don't have what they need 🤷🏻‍♂️

Our dog groomer today Ross was phenomenal as always! Our dog Harvey is quite a handful, and a loud husky, but Ross still handed him over with a smile and laughs! Also Ross added a free Saint Patrick's day bandana and Harvey couldn't have looked cuter after his visit!

Michelle & Ross were amazing groomers for my two fur loves! They looked so good and the groomers were so friendly! Can’t wait to make my next appointment for the girls!

Im editing to add Beth is a disgusting person. After already talking to corporate the store manager Beth wants to call and be condescending and rude saying he was out of control for smelling her basket! Saying he was not under my control because he made a wrong turn and was immediately corrected at one point. She needs to go look up the ada guidelines of what out of control means. How dare you try to add insult to injury and call me to argue with me. Apparently she is also a service dog trainer lol just like Lola here studied law. Oh and she is a psychiatrist because she said my dog had no reason to be tasking at that time. Absolutely ridiculous. Very disappointed in how i was treated by LOLA here today. I have a real task trained service dog who's task requires him to not be leashed. According to the ADA laws, if a leash interferes with a service animal performing their task, they are NOT required to wear one, but they must remain under full control of the owner. Control can even be verbal. My SD is under full control at all times with not only verbal ques but a harness with a handle and a training collar to which I hold the control. I was in the store for upwards of 30 minutes, and I had zero issues. Several employees passed me without saying anything, and I even asked one for help at one point. My SD was following all training and behaving as an SD should. He is trained (like any real SD would be) to ignore and not react to other animals, people, or children regardless of their behavior. Anyway, I get up to the register to pay, and as I'm checking out the cashier LOLA tells me, "Just so you know, all dogs have to be leashed to come in the store. ".. Although my SD is clearly marked as a service animal, I understand and am used to, not everyone knowing the laws for leashing an SD. So I kindly explain to her he is a service dog and his tasks require him not to be leashed, but he is harnessed and under my complete control. She continues to now argue with me and says "well petcos store policy over rules ADA, so he has to be leashed or can't come in." I again tried to inform her ADA is federal laws and federal law over rules any store policy. To which she replied "I've studied law, I know the laws and our store policy still stands." Lol this was laughable for many reasons but at this point I started to get frustrated and panicked. I have autism and these types of encounters are very difficult for me. So I explained to her she was way over stepping as a cashier and she was not representing what PETCO stands for. She then said, "we get very reactive dogs in here and it's a safety issue.". I informed her he is specially trained to deal with those types of situations and so am I so if someone else's dog is aggressive that is a them problem and not my SD'S issue as he will not engage. Needless to s, y she continues to argue until leave. I will be filing a complaint with the ADA, and I hope this cashier is trained and educated on the laws for Service Animals and how to never make someone feel the way she made me feel again.
