Petco does accept unwanted fish. If you have a healthy freshwater fish you can no longer care for, you can bring it to your local Petco for donation. It is wise to call ahead to check if that location is able to accept a fish donation at that time, as they may have limited space available for donated fish. Before you choose to adopt a fish or group of fish, make sure you know everything involved so you are fully prepared to care for your pets. Petco guarantees returns of freshwater aquatic life inside a designated time frame. For 30 days, you can receive a full refund for freshwater fish purchased in our Pet Care Centers. All fish should have a properly established habitat; a receipt is required, and we recommend providing a water sample with your return. By testing your water, we can help check if your tank is ready for another fish, or if it may need some work to prepare it for a new fish.

Tim the store manager is horrible

I go in there quite a bit and Tim is not approachable. He looks miserable and does not help customers. He spends most of his time outside. The store deserves better.

There was an issue with a prior purchase and they both had patience, listened to me of what the issue was and then solved my issue. I walked away spending more many and I’ll be back today! Nobody Home

I have tried buying fish several times there...no one is ever attending the aquarium section. Other workers just ignore me (pretending to be busy) or hang out in the 'employees only' section messing around. When I have purchased anything at this store, check-outs are really slow. Need more and better employees.

Should be zero stars

Went to buy a 20 gallon aquarium. Was told they had none but to order one online for delivery. Ordered online and the only option was for pickup at the store so that’s what I selected. A hour later my order was cancelled saying there was none there. Called the store to ask what to do now since I was unable to order it at all online. Wanted to get a rain check for when they came in stock etc. Was told there was in fact one at the store despite being told there wasn’t. I was livid. Wasted time and money to go to the store and they didn’t even know what they had. It was set aside for us to pick up. My MIL went to pick it up for me and the staff was extremely rude to her and upset they had to load it in her car. (She is disabled) I will never shop here again. I’ll drive the extra 15 minutes down the road to a family owned store.

Poor or no customer service

I've never seen a bigger cluster fluckk than this store. Their fish section is a waste...no feeders or worms for animals they sell. Grooming salon never answers store never answers. Not sure how they are opened.

Not enough personnel!

The store didnt have enough people working at all! The prices on the cat trees we were looking at were not marked on the shelves so we had to keep going and finding someone to do a price check for us. The personnel themselves were very pleasant but overworked.
