Petco does accept unwanted fish. If you have a healthy freshwater fish you can no longer care for, you can bring it to your local Petco for donation. It is wise to call ahead to check if that location is able to accept a fish donation at that time, as they may have limited space available for donated fish. Before you choose to adopt a fish or group of fish, make sure you know everything involved so you are fully prepared to care for your pets. Petco guarantees returns of freshwater aquatic life inside a designated time frame. For 30 days, you can receive a full refund for freshwater fish purchased in our Pet Care Centers. All fish should have a properly established habitat; a receipt is required, and we recommend providing a water sample with your return. By testing your water, we can help check if your tank is ready for another fish, or if it may need some work to prepare it for a new fish.

A reliable Petco to have what your pet needs!

The store is very well stocked. There were some stock carts in the isle but overall It's clean & accessible. When I was there there was only one lady working. She had the phone ringing, people at cashier and customers needing assistance in the fish department. She was very busy.

An enjoyable experience

The Huntington branch is bright, open and welcoming. Staff are courteous and helpful. The store is cleaner than other locations. My pup had a Vetco appointment and was surprised to see how they sanitized after each interaction. The whole time took less than 20 mins and their operation was smooth sailing as soon as you walk through those doors.
