Petco does accept unwanted fish. If you have a healthy freshwater fish you can no longer care for, you can bring it to your local Petco for donation. It is wise to call ahead to check if that location is able to accept a fish donation at that time, as they may have limited space available for donated fish. Before you choose to adopt a fish or group of fish, make sure you know everything involved so you are fully prepared to care for your pets. Petco guarantees returns of freshwater aquatic life inside a designated time frame. For 30 days, you can receive a full refund for freshwater fish purchased in our Pet Care Centers. All fish should have a properly established habitat; a receipt is required, and we recommend providing a water sample with your return. By testing your water, we can help check if your tank is ready for another fish, or if it may need some work to prepare it for a new fish.

Petco did not care to lose my business

I have been coming to this store for years for all my pet needs from food and grooming. I was always told to just do a walk in to get my small dog's nails trimmed- it takes 10 minutes usually. I went in yesterday, the employee asked if I could come back later they were busy. She was not very kind about it. I decided to come back today. Ended up talking to the same employee again. She said they were too busy and that I need to make an appointment. I told her she could have told me that yesterday. I said I guess that I will have to find another place. She agree. I said that you don't care to lose my business and she said she did not. I asked for her name and she told me I could talk to her manager that they would not care. I did talk to the manager. She listened and said she was sorry for the behavior, but did nothing to try to save my business. I guess Nicole was right, they don't care. SO I will never go to purchase anything or get any of my 3 dogs groomed there.

Awesome groomer

Took our dog in for her first grooming appointment at this location. We were nervous leaving her there alone. Our dog looks beautiful and is so happy. She smells good and feels so soft. Ilaya T. was awesome. Thank you for doing such a great job.

Great service

I was at Petco today to get my dog some prescription food and was thrilled with the service I was provided at the register. I believe the cashier's name was Kyle. Kyle truly went above and beyond for me by helping me to get signed up for the app and explaining the buy 10 get one free on bags of dog food. Thank you, Kyle. I hope you know your good attitude and helpful nature don't ho unnoticed.

Thrive Arvada On Wadsworth

The service at this Thrive isn’t great from my experience. The message a day before the appointment I got texts that were for someone else’s dog with my pets name on some of it but not all. Then at the appointment we were lack of a better word peaches to about spaying a dog that we are choosing not to at this time. Also the Vet didn’t really seam to care about our pets. One was in for dental work and the other for concerns about not going into her first heat. We were advised by a Petco trainer to get her in. After the exams the vet was given papers on vaccines were were looking into and said not sure why they got these for you. Stated that the dog there for dental needs some work done but didn’t explain it past his canine has to be pulled we sent you estimate. Said my dog was a late bloomer and to just spay her. My dogs started barking at a dog outside the door and I was working on getting there attention. While doing so the vet said I’m something about leaving and left. We had questions and weren’t given the opportunity to ask them. To sum it up if you looking for quality service for the animals you love I wouldn’t recommend this location.

Great Groomer!

We were in last week and Brittany in the grooming department is amazing! We were only getting my dog's nails done, but Brittany was super professional and friendly. She got Cali in quickly and had her nails done in no time (and they looked great). I have run past quite a few unprofessional groomers and it was great to see this Petco has a great grooming team.

Kyle and Staff at this location are AWESOME! They have the best healthy fish in Denver metro area. This is the only store we shop after experiencing horrible customer service and fish tank conditions at the 120th and Washington location. Kyle shares his knowledge and expertise each time we visit. Thank you for helping us create a beautiful and interesting community of fish.
