Many varieties of freshwater fish come in an array of colors, making it easy to customize your aquarium's look and feel. We carry an array of species from aggressive and semi-aggressive to schooling fish, so you can find the right fish to fit the size and style aquarium you want. First-time pet parents often choose to take home a betta, as they are beautiful to look at and make a great species for those getting started with aquarium keeping. Petco does accept unwanted fish. If you have a healthy freshwater fish you can no longer care for, you can bring it to your local Petco for donation. It is wise to call ahead to check if that location is able to accept a fish donation at that time, as they may have limited space available for donated fish. Before you choose to adopt a fish or group of fish, make sure you know everything involved so you are fully prepared to care for your pets. Petco guarantees returns of freshwater aquatic life inside a designated time frame. For 30 days, you can receive a full refund for freshwater fish purchased in our Pet Care Centers. All fish should have a properly established habitat; a receipt is required, and we recommend providing a water sample with your return. By testing your water, we can help check if your tank is ready for another fish, or if it may need some work to prepare it for a new fish.

Terrible incomplete service

I have been using this place for several years. On 7/11. I took my dog in for a cut and bath. The usual groomer was not available, so I had to book with Kendall. After leaving I get a call from my significant other saying there was an issue. Said my dogs tail was matted, would need shave down significantly. She is a small fluffy dog and she does not like to be too short. I tell him to tell her not to cut down too much. 2 mins later, Kendall calls explaining, I tell her the same, I understand about matting but it affects her demeanor and she acts ashamed, so cut down not all the way off. Well she proceeded to tell me it was already done!! Irritated to say the least, so I tell her thats crappie she would do something without discussing with me first. We BOTH got snippy with each other. I end the call as I see its not going anywhere, especially after she told me she was leaving in 2 weeks so she "didn't really care." I then get a call from a manager(Marin, I believe)who told me to come pick up my partialy cut and unwashed dog as the groomer no longer felt comfortable performing the service. So I'm like someone else should fix what she did. I nor my dog shouldn't be punished for someone holding the groomer accountable for her actions. After being told no one could fix and I would need to come back, but I could have 20% off my next service is a slap in the face. I asked for her manger to call. On this day I write the review (7/18) No call. I called corporate on (7/11), told I would have a response in 48 hours. No call. TERRIBLE customer services, especially for someone who had been using this location nearly 3 years.

Aquatics

Teejay in aquatics is by far the most helpful employee I have ever ran across. He went out of his way to give us information about what we needed to purchase to get started as well as making sure we didn’t put animals that don’t belong together in the same tank. His customer service does not go unnoticed. The tanks were also super clean so we could see the beautiful variety of fish.

I came in to pick up one bad of dog food. The cashier, Amy, was extremely rude even though I only had one item and was at the register for less than 2 minutes. Just embarrassing service from this store.

Disappointed and out $75

The cashier was very apathetic and did not offer any customer service. I had a free bad of dog food but the ap would not work...she literally shrugged her shoulders and said...nothing I can do. Even if there wasn’t, she could have acted like she cared. It was a $75 bag of food I ended up just buying instead of getting free because she didnt even want to try to help. And she could not have cared less. I was extremely disappointed and will take my business elsewhere.

Very poor customer service

I had been online shopping for some stuff for my new turtle and found that they had some stuff on sale so I headed to the store when arriving no signs were posted so I then went to the register and asked if they had an add because nothing was labeled I was told if it's an in store add the sign would be posted if not is was on line only so I went and grabbed a few things that I needed and not on sale so I then stopped at the live plants and at one stand there was a sign of a sale so we asked does this include the plant that were NOT labeled with the sale tag was told yes so I bought 3 to get the 4 free long behold by time I got home with my $20.00 Worth of plants my free one was floating all around the bag no longer in tact because of the way she bagged them. So not only did I not get to use the sale I had went for the one I found was no good to me either I WILL NEVER SHOP THIS STORE AGAIN

I purchased a pet Ferret and the staff was very helpful,friendly,and knowledgeable on any questions I had.The staff at the store was the most welcoming pet store in the area.

Great store and even better customer service

We went in last week to get our son started with his first pet. He eventually decided on two spotted geckos. When we asked for assistance an employee got us started with Caden. He was super knowledgeable and helpful. He answered every question we had and more. He even walked around with my husband to help us get the things we needed to get started. Everything from the lid to the food. Information on when and how much we need to feed them and what to expect from the geckos. He was super nice and you could he enjoyed his job. He had a smile on his face the entire time. We highly recommend this store and encourage anyone who needs assistance to look for Caden. Next time we return and need anything we definitely will.

Staph infection

I have been a customer at this petco for a year and a half, my dog Max was groomed a couple of weeks ago, he looked good at the time but within a day we noticed a red spot on his back near his tail ( American Eskimo) we weren’t sure what it was at first, thinking bug bite, but over next 48 hours it was spreading, then noticed under his tail another area, so we called the vet, took him in, she said staph infection, most likely from another dog being groomed that day, and improper sanitation of clippers/pen, we are now on a dose of antibiotics and triple antibiotic cream, also giving him an allergy type shot, he has been on preventative always. But so far it has cost us $175+ in vet bills. I called last Thursday asking to speak to a manager , put on hold then disconnected, called back left my #, no call back. $62 grooming cost me 3x in vet bills.
