Petco does accept unwanted fish. If you have a healthy freshwater fish you can no longer care for, you can bring it to your local Petco for donation. It is wise to call ahead to check if that location is able to accept a fish donation at that time, as they may have limited space available for donated fish. Before you choose to adopt a fish or group of fish, make sure you know everything involved so you are fully prepared to care for your pets. Petco guarantees returns of freshwater aquatic life inside a designated time frame. For 30 days, you can receive a full refund for freshwater fish purchased in our Pet Care Centers. All fish should have a properly established habitat; a receipt is required, and we recommend providing a water sample with your return. By testing your water, we can help check if your tank is ready for another fish, or if it may need some work to prepare it for a new fish.

Dog grooming

I have Lucy groom my westhighland terrier, and she does a fantastic job. I have been having problems trying to get the Petco app to be able to join so I can get my 8 th dog grooming free, but so far no go…. It’s unfortunate that this is the case as I always bring my dog here. I have an iPad and have had NO luck.

Employee training

I called Petco in Port Richey, FL at 1:55 pm today to see if they had "Nextstar for Cats" in stocks before going there, since it seems to be getting harder to find certain cat items lately. The male who answered didn't even check if there was any, he just automatically said I can only get it from a vet. Not true! This is not a prescription flea treatment. I ended up ordering it from Walmart for pickup. Please train the employees better.

Ferret baby

Healthy happy ferret kits! Brought home an adorable sweet baby yesterday. Although the blonde cashier didn’t want to help , the young woman helped me .she got the baby out , helped gather all the items needed and another associate Jenny finalized everything including paperwork for my new edition. Wish I got the young woman’s name she and Jenny went above and beyond ! Very knowledgeable! Turned my upsetting experience with the blonde woman into a happy return customer .
